How to Make Money with Your Thai Food Blog?

For a long time, we didn’t think much about making money with our Thai food blog or videos. We were making money, we just didn’t think much about it because it wasn’t that much.

Over time, the money adds up from Thai food blogging and vlogging, and we decided this year to show you some tips about how we make extra cash from JoysThaiFood so YOU CAN TOO!

Without hardly trying we’ve made thousands of dollars online with this blog and some of our others.

How much? Over the seven years of blogging, together we’ve made over $200,000 USD. About $30,000 per year. That’s extra because I work a full-time job helping volunteers teach English in Thailand at schools that cannot afford funding to provide teachers on their own. My husband works writing books for his main income.

This is over some time, of course, but you can see that making money with your Thai food blog is very possible. These are just the earnings at YouTube for our videos. It’s amazing that the two Pad Thai videos I did make over $2,500 USD – right? It just goes to show that if you plan the video out and do the best you can, you can be rewarded for it.

If you’re already making food for your family and you want to start a Thai food blog – START ONE TODAY! Don’t wait!

Not enough money for you? Let’s look at where else we made money with our blogs:

Google Adsense. This is the service that puts ads on your blog. Over the seven years of Joy’s Thai Food we made just over $17,800 through Adsense.

Direct Advertisements. Though we didn’t do much of this, we still were able to bring in close to $4,400 from advertisers that wanted to place their ads on this site, and two that placed ads directly in my YouTube videos.

Joy’s Thai Food EBooks. Six years ago I made two Thai food eBooks that we sold on our website and at Amazon, Apple, Barnes & Noble, and other marketplaces. Though I’ve taken the books down for about a year so I could revise them (which I never did yet! ha! ;P) over the five years we sold them, we made over $4,000 with them.

Donations. Some blogs do really well with donations. I don’t think we ever had a donation button on Joy’s Thai Food, but still, some people felt really grateful that I helped them so much with their recipes that they sent me money! We only made $280 from donations, but still, it’s something!

There are many ways to make money from your blog, whether you blog about food, or not. My husband wrote many more eBooks about Thailand, Hawaii, and meditation, and he made so much more money than I did. There are many ways you can make money that we’ll tell you later after you sign up for your hosting account, install WordPress, and get your first WordPress Theme.

If you had told me that my blog would make $18,600+ dollars in seven years of not really trying to make a living from it, I would have said, “YOU ARE CRAZY!” I probably wouldn’t have continued working, I would have just focused on this blog.

But it’s true, it happened. It is not that difficult at all to make extra money with your food or another blog. If you want to make it a full-time career, it is more difficult, but I don’t think impossible.

You must have exceptional web hosting if you want to have a website. You should seriously consider “BlueHost“. We have used them for a decade with great joy! 😛

We decided to become affiliates for Bluehost.com because we have enjoyed their hosting services over a decade of time. We’ve been extremely satisfied with them, and so we pass on to you our recommendation that you also join them. There are far too many poor hosting services available online.

We receive a commission from Bluehost for referrals from this site. If you would, please go there through one of our blue links on the page so we can continue to give you great articles on hosting your food blog, and cooking Thai food! 😛 Joy B.
